Why Rock Solid fitness

Our certified trainers specialize in High Intensity SAFE Strength Training®—helping you build strength, prevent injuries, and achieve lasting results with expert-guided, science-backed workouts.

Why Rock Solid Fitness member's love us and how to know if we're the right fit for you

Let’s face it, there are countless local gyms, personal trainers, and fitness options to choose from, and it’s difficult finding the right fit for you.  We know what our members value, and if you value these things then we know you’ve found your home for health and fitness with us.

Precise Data

When you workout with us you know when you're getting stronger, losing fat, or gaining muscle.  We record everything that you do in every workout you perform, you are periodically given strength progress charts to track your improvement over time, and you are able to see your body composition changes with an InBody 570 every month.  You don't have to guess if you're getting better, or "feel like" your getting better, because you have all the data you need to backup your progress and show you what you're doing is working.

Intelligent, Individualized Programming

You can be confident that the workout routines, equipment adjustments, and weights chosen on each exercise are personalized to you, your goals, and your current/past medical and injury history. Everything that you do during your workouts has a reason. You shouldn't rely on a workout routine that is performed purely because it looks cool on social media, or settle for an "because it's good for you" answer to your question of why you are doing an exercise a certain way. You deserve each exercise in your workout routine to have a purpose, a logical reason behind the form, and a Fitness Coach that can explain to you the ins-and-outs of the exercise you do, the form you use, the equipment chosen, and the anatomy of the body parts used. Don't risk injury to your body by accepting anything less.

Time Efficiency

One of the biggest tells of why Rock Solid Fitness is a good fit for you is if you want fitness to be a part of your life, but not be your WHOLE life. We perform 25-minute workouts, just once or twice per week, in order to provide you everything you need to be your healthiest self. If you've been led to believe that you need to go to the gym for an hour, and go 5 times every week, in order to be in better shape, let us show you a better way. Get time back in your life to spend doing the things you love by choosing a more efficient way of becoming your fittest, healthiest self.

Expert Fitness Coaches

When you're working with a Fitness Coach, you deserve expertise - not someone who earned a certification over the weekend or learned about fitness through Instagram. Experience matters! Starting from our CEO, Patty, who has over 27 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Fitness Coach, down to every Fitness Coach on staff who has studied anatomy, knows how to work around injuries, and knows how to get the most out of your training. With our expert Fitness Coaches at Rock Solid Fitness, you will always have an expert partner in your fitness journey.

Exclusive Equipment You Won't Find Anywhere Else

All of our equipment is hand-picked for specific reasons, from different highly-trusted brands.  We don’t just buy whatever equipment brand gives us a good deal for low quality machines.  We also have a handful of equipment that you won’t find anywhere else, that trains muscles that most gyms frankly neglect.

High Quality Brands

We proudly provide exercise machines from Nautilus, MedX, Hammer Strength, and Pendulum. Each piece of equipment was chosen based on two criteria. First, to be able to properly fit people of all sizes to ensure proper anatomical positioning when performing an exercise. And second, to provide the best strength curve on each exercise. This ensures the weight on each exercise feels smooth and challenges your muscles evenly throughout the entire range of motion of the exercise. All this keeps you safely training, and allows you to get the most out of each exercise.

Lower Back Strengthening

There are many exercises a typical training studio does that you might "feel something in your low back". The truth is though that you aren't actually strengthening the muscles of your lower back. Those muscles are properly targeted in exercises like deadlifts where other muscles such as your glutes and hamstrings are involved. You have to specifically target your lower back muscles with no other larger muscle groups working in order to benefit with greater strength, stability, and blood flow to get rid of inflammation in that lower back. This is why we have a Nautilus Lumbar Extension machine with seat belt straps to ensure the only muscles working and gaining benefit are those muscles in your lumbar spine.

Progressive Overload

It is important to always be working towards improving. The closer you get to your fullest potential of strength, the harder it is to keep improving. You'll notice that on certain exercises, adding just one more pound to the weight you are lifting makes a difference. That is why we have weights to add 1-2 pounds to a given exercise to keep you progressing pound-by-pound. Most gyms have equipment that only can increase weight by 5-10 pounds. That jump in weight of an exercise can be too much to handle, and results in struggling to maintain form, keep the exercise safe, and successfully perform a set with enough repetitions due to too aggressive of a weight increase.

Neck Strengthening

Good luck trying to find this equipment anywhere else! We have a 5-way Pendulum neck machine in our studio. Neck strength is so important and yet so neglected in your standard training facility. Everyone benefits from having a stronger neck. Yes vanity-wise your neckline will look better, but structurally-wise you are preventing neck pains and reducing risk of head and neck injuries with a stronger neck. In particular athletes, anyone with neck pain history, and those with a history of headaches or migraines need this as a part of their workout routine! You can train 5 different ways to build up neck strength on this machine - shrugs, neck flexion, neck extension, and neck lateral flexion to the left and ride sides, respectively.

Tibialis Anterior

We value training of the entire body, and not just the "trophy muscles". Our workouts leave no muscle group left behind. Nothing shows that more than this muscle group that is forgotten about in all other gyms. The Tibialis Anterior muscles are at the front of the shins, opposite the calves, and is responsible for pulling your foot up so that your toes are pointed towards the ceiling. This muscle group is especially important for balance as we age, and is important for runners to keep strong. We have two pieces of equipment dedicated to strengthening this muscle group for you .

Data Driven

At Rock Solid Fitness, we pride ourselves in being data driven.  It is important to have more than just a feeling of improving, but have actual proof of improvement.  That is why we provide precise data to show how your training has improved your strength, increased your muscle, decreased total body fat, or decreased dangerous visceral fat.  We guarantee you will see immediate strength gains from your training, and provide accountability to help change your nutritional habits and activity habits needed to improve your body composition.

Monthly Body Composition Scans

Each of our memberships comes with a monthly InBody 570 body composition scan. These scans will track your progress on building muscle, losing overall body fat, losing visceral fat around your organs, your body's hydration levels, and the differences between your two arms and legs. This gives you the honest feedback that you need to know in order to tell if your habits are giving you the results you desire to change your body. Each month you will see if you are eating well, hydrating well, and are performing enough activity to change your body to become healthier.

Strength Progress Reports

Each time you complete a workout card, you get a progress report of how your strength is improving across the most important exercises for your legs, upper body, abdominals, and back. You can compare your strength gains from your first workout, as well as your gains from your latest workout routines. A stronger body is a healthier body! With increased strength comes enhanced metabolic health, cardiovascular fitness, bone density, cognitive function, and more. All of which result in better longevity and quality of life.

Measurements Tracked Every Workout

Each workout you perform is tracked. Your seat setting in each exercise is recorded so that you are performing an exercise consistently in the same exact position each time you do it. Your weight on an exercise is tracked to know when you are able to lift more than a previous workout. And your repetitions are tracked to know when you are able to complete more repetitions on an exercise than the last time you worked out. All of this helps us determine a scientific reason for the weight you lift and keeps you progressively overloading your muscles. You can't change your body without challenging it, but the challenge needs to be appropriately individualized to meet you where you are at in order to consistently improve at the right rate.

Why Work With Me?

Today, I help clients improve strength and mobility by integrating anatomical insight, corrective strategies, and individualized programming.

If you’re ready to move better, get stronger, and feel more capable every day, I’m here to guide you with clarity, intention, and a science-driven approach.

My Rock Solid Fitness Role:

As the Member Services Team Member with Rock Solid Fitness, I help manage member account payments, travel, forms, scheduling, app usage, and anything else that you may need outside of your workout routine.  Having previously worked as a Fitness Coach at Rock Solid Fitness, it is a bonus that I have institutional knowledge and experience in exercise science to help answer any health and fitness questions that you may have.  Before starting with RSF in 2013, I had debilitating lower back pain that limited me from doing anything besides walking.  After about a month of training HIST with RSF, I have completely rehabbed my back, gotten back to playing sports and hiking, and have been free of back pain with no setbacks.
